Summary: A cruelly overlooked classic
Comment: This wonderful film barely got a release in 1987 thanks to the meddling of the Disney Channel; ironically, it was only through a free preview of the same in late 1993 that I was able to see it for the first time.

The Brave Little Toaster is really proto-Pixar: many of the same people were involved behind the scenes, and the film has the same deft combination of excellent design, laughs, and heartfelt emotion. A story about a group of appliances that go looking for their lost master seems silly, but the vibrant animation, lush David Newman score, and excellent performances by the Groundling improv comedy troupe create a truly wonderful result.

In short, if you've enjoyed anything Pixar has ever done, give this little movie a chance and watch it with whatever kids you have handy (and zvoid the inferior sequels).

Summary: best. movie. ever.
Comment: I loved this movie as a kid! I watched it on vhs dozens of times and was devastated when my parents moved and lost it. I'm 22 now and am so glad I found this on dvd so I can keep it for(almost)ever! The quality of the dvd is a bit crumby during the opening credits, but it's definitely not as bad as some have commented, and it evens out pretty quickly and is definitely not an issue during the rest of the film. I'm so glad my mom bought this for me as a kid, I have such good memories of it (even the scary ones weren't that bad).

Summary: Nothing hits the spot like a BLT (Brave Little Toaster)
Comment: I can not give this movie any less than 5 stars. When I was a child, I remember sitting with my sister and loving this movie. I bought it for myself when a bunch of people I live with were trying to tell me that the movie was not as scary as I remembered.

So we watched it again. All of those "Scary" scenes were still there (like the toaster having a dream he is about to be dropped in a bathtub, etc.) and so, I agree that it is a little bit intense at some points.

I also agree with some of the reviewers that the movie uses some terms that are not as accepted today- for example, the movie appliences call each other stupid from time to time. I also noticed that the beginning of the movie does "rock" a little bit and is not the greatest in quality.

But I do think it is very good to enjoy if this was a favorite movie of yours when you were a kid. I don't want to get into a debate about what is healthy for children to watch or what types of nightmares or language they will learn. I am simply rating this movie at 5 stars because I wanted to buy this movie and it was better than what I thought I was getting (I worried that once Disney bought the rights to this movie, the movie would have added songs or Disney might take some scenes out). This is not the case. If you are really concerned about buying this for you children then don't buy it for them... but be prepared to have children who become scared of twinkies, foam pillows, and static on the radio, because- in my opinion, you can't protect your child from everything. Oops, now I got into a debate.

I hope this review was helpful for you!

Comment: I bought this product for my child's 3rd birthday. It was one of my favorites as a kid. It was a good buy, however, the product arrived 3 days past it's promised date. Still glad I bought it though.
